The Steadfast Appeal of Primary Colours in Your Wardrobe
Colour forecast: Bright days ahead. Hop abroad for a nostalgic throwback, and some eye-catching pieces you won't regret.
| June 26, 2018Throwback to days with a colouring board and chances are that it’ll be full of scribbles with red, yellow and blue crayons. These primary colours had stood out amongst the myriad of other colours for their eye-catching qualities, and even now? It is undeniable that there is no other colour combination that is nearly quite as eye-catching as these. Gone are the antiquated days of “only stick with black or white”. Just take a cue from any of your favourite street style star. We will bet that primary colours in generous quantities have been in their reperotire more than once, twice, very likely even thrice.
Sure, they may just be colours with no overtly complicated patterns, but don’t be fooled by its apparent simplicity. Whether worn monochromatic, colour blocked or mixed with other prints, it’s admittedly not the easiest to pull off. Yet, once you pull it off right, the results are amazing. Definitely the kind of bold basic we can get behind. Hey, basic does not have to be bad.
