We Couldn’t Stop Spotting Bucket Hats All Throughout Fashion Month
This retro accessory has found its way back into the picture and we guarantee that once you've popped it on, you'll wonder how you've ever lived without it.| October 26, 2018
Hats can add flair, a statement to your outfit, but many still choose to opt for a necklace or a bracelet. Why? Because hats can be pretty disruptive and are not the most practical of accessories. It may fly off in the wind, get entangled in tree branches or crown you with the unfortunate hat hair. Also, gosh – that itch on a hot day.
Despite all that, nothing will ever stop us from wearing hats. While cowboy, chupalla and fedora hats, and berets are popular choices, bucket hats are reigning the street style scene this fall. But, this isn’t yet another 90s trend like dad sneakers or fanny packs.
This once-popular fisherman’s go-to wear has been revived and reinvented, dressing down outfits everywhere. But fret not, the new season bucket hats won’t make you look like you’re headed down to the pier. Instead, pair it with a summer dress and you’re vacation ready. Or with a jumpsuit or a mini pantsuit like Yoyo did during Milan Fashion Week, because why not? It’s versatile and practical.
Unconvinced? If your dry shampoo’s empty and your hair is just not cooperating, a bucket hat can cover it all up. Plus, you’ll look extra retro with an outfit topper like Prada’s houndstooth patterned ones, or Fendi’s shiny logomania bucket hat. Going for vintage (our favourite shops are in Tokyo!) is also an option. Below, we’ve rounded up a few bucket hats to grab right now.
