We Take A Trip Down Memory Lane with Gucci’s Beloved Collections
The timeless classics from Gucci’s Beloved line of versatile carryalls have followed us from the streets of Milan to the pages of a magazine. Here, we look back at some of our favourite moments.
| December 23, 2020Gucci’s Renaissance man Alessandro Michele’s design acumen might take its notes from the history books but he’s a man ahead of time. Long before the global pandemic sent brands back to the drawing board in contemplation of the viability of trends, Michele had upended the system.
Since taking over the reins in 2015, Michele has reshaped the Italian maison’s DNA with a distinct modus operandi referenced from the yesteryears. Rather than meander through fleeting trends from season to season, Michele’s collections have transcended seasonality. Referenced from the past but rendered for the future, Gucci’s repertoire of ready-to-wear and carryalls speak of a certain timeless allure.
You have to look no further than its Beloved line of carryalls for proof. From the Diyonsus to GG Marmont and subsequently the Gucci Horsebit 1955, and the Jackie 1961 line, Gucci’s collections of arm candy are reflective of Michele’s timeless design acumen. As we’ve gone from the streets of Milan to the pages of a magazine, we’ve had Gucci’s handbags in tow.
Those are fond memories we’ve found ourselves revisiting of late for pockets of escape from the sombre reality. Here, drawing on our memory bank (scroll through the gallery above), we’ve put together a lineup of our favourites from Gucci’s Beloved collections.
