We Find Momentary Escape into a Tropical Oasis at Louis Vuitton’s Savoir Faire Universe
Complete with lush greenery and designer lounge furniture, we reveled in vacation mode at the French maison's Takashimaya boutique right here at home.| July 25, 2020
With travel completely off the agenda until further notice from Miss Rona, we cling onto every opportunity we can get to satiate our wanderlust without hopping on board a plane. Step inside Louis Vuitton’s Takashimaya duplex boutique and enter the maison’s Savoir Faire Universe where you will be transported to an indoor tropical oasis.
Replete with lush greenery, curated pieces of designer furniture from the Objets Nomades collection, the house’s revered trunks, art objects, handbags, watches and jewellery, the immersive setup momentarily whisks one away to a luxurious cabana on an untouched island. With travel so deeply entrenched into its DNA, leave it to Louis Vuitton to reimagine its store interior into a much-needed respite from the austerity of reality. Given that we all spend more time at home now than we might ever have in the past, the Savoir Faire Universe is aptly built around the idea of creating a sanctuary within your humble abode.
When you step into the store, you’ll be greeted by the warm welcome of a patio decorated with the dreamy Bomboca sofa and Cocoon swing by the Campana Brothers and the Swing Boat by atelier oï amidst thriving fauna. Just as you would the moment you put your bags down at your vacation villa, we found ourselves getting into position for the picture-perfect Instagram photo that screams #wanderlust. This outdoor setup leads into other thematic rooms throughout the level: a women’s dressing area, a dining room, and a man cave equivalent.
If you, like us, could totally use an (almost) vacation, Louis Vuitton’s Savoir Faire Universe will be on show until 2nd August. Before you head down to the store, book a private appointment through Louis Vuitton client services at +65 6788 388. If your schedule does not permit it, fret not. Scroll through the gallery above for a virtual tour of the space. Travel, after all, is a state of mind.
