Room Diaries: Irene Kim Takes Us Inside Her Studio In Seoul
Featuring neon lights, feel-good vibes, Saint Laurent skates and Biggie, her ridiculously photogenic Frenchie.| July 20, 2017
Whether it is a living room, office or bedroom, a person’s space can reveal a lot about him or her – and it can also be chockfull of interior decorating ideas, too. Keeping to our promise of amping up our lifestyle content and because it’s always good to save some interior design tips and tricks for a rainy day, we’re bringing back “Room Diaries” after letting it go AWOL for over a year. The person we’ve called to help us break the hiatus? The very sweet, very cute – and very tall – Irene Kim!
Amid stuffing our faces with ice cream and buying facial products like no tomorrow on our recent trip to Seoul, we also popped by Irene’s studio and office where she runs Hi STUDIO. Irene’s got a bubbly and energetic personality – quite like her ever-changing rainbow locks – and her workspace reflects that. Marble table tops and lush boudoir velvet are mixed with neon lights, walls covered in painted flamingoes and an array of mismatched chairs, all set against a backdrop of calming millennial pink. I like our black and white office just fine, but seeing as I am currently on a hunt for chairs, I will need to know where that acrylic-wood hybrid chair came from, Irene!
Also, can we just talk about her dog Biggie for a second? I’ve seen many dogs in my life, but Biggie is officially the most camera-ready dog I’ve ever met. It is like he knows when the camera is on him. Every time I turned the camera lens on him, he stopped whatever he was doing and just looked at me with those puppy eyes. I’m not kidding. Not difficult to see why he has over 10K followers on Instagram.
