Follow Me To France: A Cruise Fashion Week Diary In Three Cities
From Paris to Cannes and finally to Arles. See some of the most beautiful things that caught my eye from my cruise season travels.| June 5, 2018
I say that I go to France and Italy very often and while that is true, saying that I go to Paris and Milan often is more accurate. Indeed, these two countries have some of the most beautiful cities in the world and it is often during the Cruise Fashion Week season that I am given the wonderful, incredible opportunity to explore beyond the usual stomping ground. Last year, it was two Italian cities. This year, it was three French cities. (Four, if you count a quick pitstop in Nice.)
My journey began in Paris, which despite having gone there so many times, is still one of my favourite places in the world. I’ll never tired of its beauty and charm. The agenda was Dior’s Cruise 2019 show, one that also included a performance by female rodeo riders all the way from Mexico, but things kicked off first with cocktails and dinner at Chez Christian, Dior’s very own themed restaurant – temporary, but one can hope! – that was so Parisian and beautiful on the inside.
Then, it was off to Cannes for Louis Vuitton, where I stayed by the massive French Riviera, an interesting contrast to the hustle and bustle of Paris. I had never been to Cannes before, so I was really looking forward to this place that you hear so much about. We even made a short track through Île Saint-Honorat, an island just a little away from Cannes.
Finally, we arrived at Arles, reunited with my Gucci gang as we roamed the streets of the once Ancient Roman city, the halls and gardens of Château de Flaugergues and finally the eerie Promenade Des Alyscamp for the hair-raising Gucci Cruise 2019 show.
I’ll always love Paris, but I’m tempted to see more now. See some of my shots from my cruise season travels. Do you have a favourite French city?
